Jonathan Hickman, born in South Carolina in September 3, 1972, is an American comic book writer. He is mostly known for his work on Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The New Avengers, as well as his contribution with House of X and Powers of X to the X-Men storyline.
Jonathan Hickman grew up in South Carolina, where he graduated in South Florence High School. Following that, he went to study Architecture in college, earning himself a degree.
Career and Bibliography
Early in his career, Jonathan Hickman worked in the development of the CD-ROM and the web. Shortly later, he began to work in the advertising world and as an art director.
Among many other comic series, Hickman created The Nightly News, Pax Romaria, Red Mass for Mars, Traunshuman, and The Red Wing, for Image Comics. He also briefly worked on Marvel Comics’ Legion of Monsters.
More dedicated to the Marvel Comics, Jonathan Hickman collaborated in Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Eventually, in October 2009, he became the writer of the Fantastic Four comic series, which was renamed to FF in March 2011.
By 2012, Jonathan Hickman was done with the Fantastic Four and became the writer of The Avengers, as well as of The New Avengers.
Following few years away from Marvel Comics, Hickman returned to become the writer of the comic series in the X-Men franchise, namely House of X and Powers of X. These two series were followed by Dawn of X.
